I am fortunate to be able to work within the Olympic villages. I get to meet the best athletes from all over the world. Here are just a few. I tried to caption them with the information I know about them. Let me know what you know about them...

Security is one of the big stories of the Games. I am convinced that this is the safest place on the planet at this point...
I usually don't do sunsets, but yesterday was just astounding. The Black Sea in the evening... Today the Patriarch of Russia, Kirill I met with the volunteers from the Multi-Faith Centers at the Russian House of Fans in the Olympic Park. After his uplifting and informal exhortation he gave a blessed icon of Christ to each person. With these beautiful sunny and warm days, it is fun to watch Olympian skiers get to know the competition course. In each of the three Olympic villages there is a Multi-Faith Center where each of the major religions is represented: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism. There are three chapels for the Christians - Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant. This a great opportunity for dialog and new friendships. For the last couple of days I have been in the mountain villages - when the snow was dumping and when it all cleared up. The three Olympic villages officially open today and the athletes are starting to come in... The excitement mounts! Tomorrow I will get all dressed up in my uniform and show you what I look like!
